Tom Cruise Went to See ‘Tenet’ This Week

Fellow espionage-movie actor Tom Cruise took break from filming Mission Impossible 7  to prematurely view Christopher Nolan’s newest film, Tenet, in London IMAX theater before its global release in select theaters on September 3rd. Cruise documented this trip, “Back to the movies,” to show fans on Twitter on Tuesday. After the viewing, which was in a crowded theater and with everyone wearing masks in alignment with current UK regulations regarding COVID-19 safety in movie theaters, Cruise can be seen clapping, clearly enjoying what he had just seen.

Cruise’s simple sentiment of “Back to the movies” means a lot to movie lovers worldwide, and Tenet‘s release, which will come out in most US theaters at a later date, serves as a symbolic semi-victory over the coronavirus, which has kept fans out of theaters for so long. Tenet was perhaps the most anticipated film to have its release postponed this summer. In fact, it was delayed three separate times after its initial July 17th date.

Recently, Screenrant announced that, during screenings of Tenet, trailer for Denis Villeneuve’s new star-studded remake of Frank Hebert’s 1965 novel, Dune, will play, as well. Dune is also one of the most talked about releases of the year, and has since been able to avoid any delays in release. It is currently slated to come out on December 18th.

Tenet is Nolan’s eleventh movie and stars John David Washington, Elizabeth Debicki, Robert Pattinson, Kenneth Branagh, and more.
