Trailer for ‘Dear Evan Hansen’ Released

The first trailer for the upcoming movie musical, Dear Evan Hansen, has been released. The movie is being distributed by Universal Pictures.

According to the Collider Dear Evan Hansen Ben Platt, who played Evan Hansen in the original stage show and won a Tony for his performance, will be reprising his role for this movie. Other cast members will include Amy Adams, Julianne Moore, Kaitlyn Dever, Danny Pino, and Amandla Stenberg. Stephen Chbosky, who is best known for directing The Perks of Being a Wallflower, is directing Dear Evan Hansen.

For those who are unaware of it Dear Evan Hansen is a Tony award winning Broadway musical. The plot follows Evan Hansen a high school senior with a social anxiety disorder, who lives with his single mother. To help his anxiety Evan writes letter to himself, but when one of his letters is discovered he claims it was written to him by his classmate Connor. Unfortunately Connor soon commits suicide, and Connor’s family latch onto Evan because they believe that Evan and Connor were secretly friends. Evan soon finds himself tangled up in a web of lies.

Dear Evan Hansen will be released on September 24.
