Tiffany Haddish Landed Role in Adaptation of National Book Award winner M.T. Anderson’s Novel ‘Landscape With Invisible Hand’

Tiffany Haddish has found her next big project, and it is not what fans are expecting from the comedian. Haddish is expanding her work to Sci-Fi. According to Deadline, she is currently in the final steps of joining the cast of MGM and Brad Pitt’s Plan B’s upcoming Sci-Fi film adaptation. National Book Award winner M.T. Anderson’s Novel Landscape With Invisible Hand was published in 2017.

Cory Finley, the director of Emmy-winning film Bad Education that starred Hugh Jackman and directorial debut Thoroughbreds that starred Anya Taylor-Joy, will direct and write the script.

It takes place in a dystopian universe where alien species dubbed Vuvv and have taken over Earth. Vuvv’s invasion of the Earth has triggered quite a change in the job market, thanks to the introduction of alien labor-saving technologies. The technology turns out to be a double-edged sword. While it is useful, it also forces the global economy to collapse; a teenager and his girlfriend, who, in an effort to make some more money, broadcast their dating life to fascinate the aliens. However, things for the couple go awry when their relationships turn rocky, and they begin to hate each other. Still, neither can break up with each other without risking the much-needed stream of income that their broadcasts are raking in to keep their families afloat.

There is no word yet on who Haddish will be playing in the upcoming adaptation or when it might hit theaters. Haddish’s forthcoming films include The Unbearable Weight of Massive TalentThe Card Counter, and Here Today.
