‘The One And Only Ivan’ Brings on Bryan Cranston to Star-Studded Cast

Bryan Cranston is man of many talents. His acting prowess can be seen in all kinds of films and television shows, playing comedy roles perfectly as seen in Malcolm in the Middle, but many connect him to more serious roles, mainly his role as Walter White in Breaking Bad. He has officially signed on to The One And Only Ivan, where he will be channeling his more serious persona, but in more of a kid-suitable situation, according to Empire.

The One And Only Ivan gathers it source material from Katherine Applegate and Patricia Castelao’s book. In what seems to be on-trend considering the wide releases of the new Planet of the Apes films and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s upcoming movie Rampage, the film will center around a gorilla named Ivan. Though he lives in a cage, he tends to love his world, and hardly ever thinks about the jungle he was taken from. Though he does not feel the need to alter his way of life, he eventually meets Ruby, a young elephant taken from her family. Their friendship leads him to set a completely different course.

Cranston joins a powerful cast that includes Angelina Jolie, Sam Rockwell as Ivan, and Ariana Greenblatt. Thea Sharrock will take on the role of director, using an adapted screenplay by Mike White. The film currently does not have a release date, but we will keep you up to date on its official announcement.
