‘The Crown’ Star Emma Corrin in Talks to Join Romantic Drama ‘Lady Chatterley’s Lover’

Emma Corrin recently became a Golden Globe winner for her portrayal of Princess Diana in the Netflix period drama series The Crown has a new role. Sources told Deadline that Corrin is in talks to play another high-society lady in romantic drama Lady Chatterley’s Lover, about a scandalous affair between star-crossed lovers. Laure de Clermont-Tonnerre (The Mustang) will direct the film. David Magee (Life of Pi, Finding Neverland) wrote the script.

Based on D.H. Lawrence’s classic novel that was initially published in Italy and France in the 1920s. However, it wasn’t published in the United States until 1959 due to the written text vulgarity.

The story follows the life of Lady Chatterley, who is born to the rich and affluent, and due to society’s expectations, finds herself married to a man that she doesn’t love, and so begins a torrid affair with a gamekeeper on their English estate, discovering more passion and intimacy than she thought possible. When she discovers that she fell heart and soul, she breaks all expectations and traditions to find happiness with the man she loves.

The next film that Corrin will be working on is with Harry Styles in the romantic drama My Policeman, about a man named Patrick whose presence at Marion (Corrin) and Tom’s (Styles) home triggers an exploration of the seismic events of the past 40 years.
