The highly-anticipated The Batman: Part II was just hit with another devastating delay. The film now sports a February 18, 2028 release date instead of October 1, 2027. This nearly 5 month delay is unfortunately not the first time this has happened to the film. It originally was slated for October 3, 2025, but the 2023 writers and actors strikes caused it to be pushed back a full year.
While previous delays were for production reasons, it appears that this time it was due to scheduling issues. Warner Bros. moved several films around in their calendar, with the most notable being J.J. Abrams’ The Great Beyond, a sci-fi film starring Glen Powell and Jenna Ortega. The movie was originally slated for November 13, 2026, but was pushed back nearly a year into Batman‘s old spot.
Some of the other calendar shake ups included Sam Esmail’s Panic Carefully, starring Elizabeth Olsen, Julia Roberts, Eddie Redmayne, Brian Tyree Henry, Ben Chaplin, Aidan Gillen, Joe Alwyn and Naledi Murray. The thriller moved from February 26, 2027 to April 9, 2027. It swapped places with New Line Cinema’s Revenge of La Llorona.
The Batman: Part II is still in active production, and there has been no indications of troubled production. The delay hurts, but what’s 5 more months?
