‘La La Land’ Gets Theatrical Rerelease For 10 Year Anniversary

La La Land gets a rerelease to theaters as the 10th anniversary of the movie approaches. The trailer that confirms the rerelease was posted by LionsgatefilmsUK and sets the date August 28th for the movie to return to theaters.  The movie was originally released 10 years ago on December 9th and starred Ryan Gosling (Project Hail Mary) as Sebastian and Emma Stone (The Help) as Mia, two people trying to achieve their dreams in Los Angeles. The movie received 6 Oscar wins including one for Emma Stone for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role and one for Damien Chazelle for Best Achievement in Directing.

In an interview with time magazine, when Emma Stone was asked what drew her to the role she responded, ” It was the ambition of the project. What he [Damien Chazelle] was going for was really exciting and enticing, because I love the originality of it and what it was paying homage to. It was really cool and interesting to be a part of, and equally scary—because if the tone wasn’t cohesive from the smaller scenes into these big cinemascope musical numbers, I didn’t know how it would turn out. But that’s also the most exciting thing—equal parts, “Who knows?” and “Let’s do it!”
