The often-memed AMC Theatres Sand Worm promotional popcorn bucket for Dune Part Two is getting a follow-up with the Dune Part Three bucket. First promotional images of the bucket were released today, keeping the same infamous design as Part Two’s bucket, but now with two sand worms whose mouths are meant to be where you grab popcorn. The dual worm design makes the bucket perfect for sharing.
Alongside the double worm bucket will be a Sandworm Thumper bucket, featuring yet another sandworm design and a working Thumper mechanism meant to replicate the device used in the Dune movies to attract the Sandworms.
Hank Green, the senior VP of f\Food & Beverage at AMC Theaters, made the following statement following the reveal of the two promotional items:
“The AMC Sandworm popcorn bucket for Dune: Part Two became a viral phenomenon, and we knew that Dune fans would have high expectations for what came next. From the moment we started planning the Dune: Part Three collectibles, our goal was to exceed those fan expectations. The Sandworm Thumper and Double Sandworm collectibles take the experience to the next level with designs straight from the movie.”
Both buckets will include a large popcorn when purchased at AMC Theaters in the US and Odeon Cinemas in Europe. Other Dune: Part Three collectibles, such as drinkware, a “mystery Keychain”, and a Sandworm plush, will also be sold at AMC and Odeon Theater locations. Pricing for all the items will be announced closer to Dune: Part Three’s December 18th release date.
