Several Upcoming Warner Bros. Films Including ‘Black Adam’ and ‘The Flash’ Have Shifted Release Dates

The release dates of many films, including Black Adam, The Flash, Aquaman 2, Wonka, and more, have been delayed and rescheduled by Warner Bros. The biggest DC films that were meant to come out this year are being postponed until the end of the year to 2023. While Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam is getting pushed back, we can still expect it to come out in 2022, Aquaman 2 and The Flash expected to come out in 2022 is delayed until 2023.

The only exception to the delays has been Shazam 2, which is moving forward to Dec. 12, 2022, instead of June 2, 2023. “We’re thrilled to bring ‘Shazam! Fury of the Gods’ to audiences as a Christmas gift this year,” said Jeff Goldstein, Warner Bros. president of domestic distribution. “Families of all ages will really enjoy it.”

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom and The Flash have been delayed from 2022 to 2023. Aquaman 2 from Dec. 16, 2022, to March 12, 2023. Meanwhile, The Flash was postponed from Nov. 4, 2022, to June 23, 2023. Dwayne Johnson’s other film DC League of Super-Pets, in which Johnson voices Superman’s canine Krypto, got pushed back to the original date Black Adam once held of July 29, 2022. The film was previously set for May 20, 2022.

Aside from the superhero movie getting their releases delayed, Timothee Chalamet’s Wonka, the origin story of the chocolatier Willy Wonka, is also getting pushed back for several months. The film was originally set to be released on March 17, 2023, and now will be released on Dec. 15, 2023. Jason Statham’s Meg 2: The Trench has also been added to the slew of delayed movies set for Aug. 4, 2023.

The Flash got delayed from Nov. 2022 to June 23, 2023.

DC League of Super-Pets got delayed from May 2022 to July 29, 2022.

Wonka got postponed from March 2023 to Dec. 15, 2023.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods got pushed forward to Dec. 12, 2022, instead of June 2, 2023.

Meg 2: The Trench is set to release on Aug. 4, 2023.
