‘The Fallout’ Filmmaker Megan Park to Direct Second Film, ‘My Old Ass’

Following her successful debut film, The Fallout, Megan Park has written her sophomore film, My Old Ass, Deadline reports. LuckyChap Entertainment and Indian Paintbrush are producing.

The film is billed as a coming-of-age comedy and will begin casting soon. Principle photography is expected to start this summer.

Park’s feature directorial debut, The Fallout, dropped on HBO Max on January 27. Also a coming-of-age story, Jenny Ortega stars as Vada, a high schooler who navigates the emotional trauma she experienced during a school tragedy, consequently altering forever her relationships with her family and friends and her worldview. The film co-starred Maddie Zeigler (Dance Moms, Music) and Julie Brown (Modern Family).

Park received the Grand Jury Prize and the Audience Award for Narrative Feature at SXSW 2021 as well as the festival’s Brightcove Illumination Award for her screenplay.

Prior to her work as a writer-director, Park also starred in movies like Central Intelligence and Charlie Bartlett, and TV shows like The Neighbors, The Secret Life of the American Teenager, and The Moodys.
