Sequel for ‘Enola Holmes’ is in Discussion

The movie Enola Holmes was released directly to Netflix earlier this month, and it quickly became both a critical and financial success. Enola Holmes was adapted from the book series by Nancy Springer, and follows the story of Enola Holmes, who is the cunning younger sister of detective Sherlock Holmes. When Enola’s mother mysteriously vanishes, she must journey to London to track her down. However during her journey Enola comes across a boy her age who is both a runaway and the Viscount Tewkesbury. Enola soon finds herself entangled in the mystery surrounding Tewkesbury’s family as well.

Since the Enola Holmes was so successful both the movie’s director, Harry Bradbeer, and its star, Millie Bobby Brown, are confident that a sequel to the movie will be made. In a Q&A with Deadline both Bradbeer and Brown mentioned that the there were still plenty of stories that could be adapted into potential sequels. According to Movie Web actor Sam Claflin has expressed interest in reprising his role as Mycroft Holmes, Enola and Sherlock’s eldest brother in any potential sequels. However according to Cinema Blend Henry Cavill, who played Sherlock, will be busy with his commitments to the second season of The Witcher, so it is unknown when he would be available to work on the Enola Holmes sequel.

As of right now the potential sequel is just being discussed, but it seems like there is a strong possibility that this movie could come to fruition.
