Potential ‘Gotham City Sirens’ Movie Put on Pause

With DC’s latest female driven movie Birds of Prey coming out soon people are starting to wonder about possible Gotham City Sirens movie. However according to Movie Web, Warner Brothers has decided to put their plans for the Gotham City Sirens movie on hold. David Ayer, the director behind Suicide Squad, was working with Warner Brothers and DC on several different projects including a possible Gotham City Sirens movie. But Ayer was recently on a panel for his upcoming series Deputy, and when he was asked about the status of the Gotham City Sirens movie the director stated simply, “No, I think that’s on pause.”

The original Gotham City Sirens comic book series was written by Paul Dini back in the late 2000’s, and was about a team up between three of Batman’s most prominent female enemies; Catwoman, Poison Ivy, and Harley Quinn. Though in the comics the three vilenesses are no longer a canonical team when a DC fan refers to the Gotham Sirens they are usually referring to these three characters.

Perhaps the movie was paused in order for the studio to focus on the upcoming Birds of Prey movie, and if Birds of Prey is successful enough we may get to see the Gotham City Sirens on the big screen sooner rather than later.
