Michael Fassbender Tries to Go Straight in ‘Trespass Against Us’ Trailer

The tense first trailer has dropped for Trespass Against Us. Watch as Michael Fassbender attempts to break free from his criminal past…it doesn’t seem to go well as these two minutes proceed. Adam Smith makes his feature directorial debut with this family crime drama that also stars Brendan Gleeson (Suffragette) and was written by Alastair Siddons (director of In the Dark Half).

The film made its world premiere at the recently concluded Toronto Film Festival, where the film received mixed early reviews (including here at mxdwn) yet boasts a sterling cast an intimate take on a well-worn story that may make a worthy alternative in our fall moviegoing. Outside of Fassbender and Gleeson, the film features Rory Kinnear (The Imitation Game), Sean Harris (who recently appeared opposite Fassbender in last year’s Macbeth) and Lyndsey Marshal (Hereafter). As a added bonus, the score comes courtesy of The Chemical Brothers.

While A24 Films hasn’t yet set a release date for Trespass Against Us, it’s expected to arrive sometime later this year. Check out the first trailer below.
