Madison Pettis and Many More to Star in Drama ‘Deltopia’; Olivia Newton-John to Executive Produce

Deadline has learned that Madison Pettis (American Pie Presents: Girls’ Rules), Luna Blaise (Manifest), Greer Grammer (Awkward), Will Peltz (Paranoia), Charlie Gillespie (Julie and the Phantoms), Hart Denton (13 Reasons Why), Daniella Perkins (Red Ruby), and Dylan Flashner (Asking for It) are set to join the coming-of-age drama Deltopia loosely based on actual events about a real Deltopia.

Deltopia is an annual unauthorized street party held in Isla Vista, Santa Barbara, in the spring. Authorities arrested around 100 partygoers in 2014 after the large event got violent after one of the revelers was apprehended by police.

Written and directed by Michael Easterling and Jaala Ruffman and it takes place over the course of 24 hours when a group of Southern California friends conclude their final day of high school and hit the road to Santa Barbara for Deltopia.

Olivia Newton-John, best known for her role in Grease as Sandy, will be an executive producer on the drama.

Easterling and Ruffman said, “Bringing the teen experience to life as honest as possible is very important to us. In Deltopia, we wanted to showcase the pivotal moments that teenagers face, whether beautiful or heart-breaking. Teenage rebellion is our driving force in the film, with kids uniting against ‘The Man’ and against authority.”

Deltopia is currently filming in L.A.

I want to write something outside the normal, something no one would think to write about in a unique way. It also shows how far I am willing to go to produce something amazing that will get more readers interested in the world of Journalism. I am on my way to making a professional life for myself.
