Ezra Miller of ‘The Flash’ Detained for Disorderly Conduct and Harassment

This past weekend was eventful for the famous and the world of the film itself, but apparently, there was drama not just within the legendary Dolby Theatre but all the way out on the big island of Hawaii. On Sunday night Ezra Miller, who is filling the big shoes of Barry Allen in Andrés Muschietti’s 2023 film The Flash, was apprehended by authorities. The South Hilo Police Department investigated the arrest.

The 29-year-old Miller allegedly became troubled and “began yelling obscenities” as customers of the bar they frequented sang karaoke. While yelling and anxiety alone are not enough to warrant a lawful charge, Miller also allegedly “grabbed” the microphone from a young woman trying her hand at a song then continued to allegedly “lunge” at a man throwing darts. After the establishment owner requested that Miller control himself, assumedly, it was then that the authorities were contacted.

The two alleged physical interactions with other patrons are what earned Miller their disorderly conduct and harassment charges, according to the report released by the police.

The police statement reads as follows:

“On Sunday, March 27, at 11:30 p.m., South Hilo patrol officers responded to a report of disorderly patron at a bar on Silva Street. During the course of their investigation, police determined that the man, later identified as Ezra Miller, became agitated while patrons at the bar began singing karaoke. Miller began yelling obscenities and, at one point, grabbed the microphone from a 23-year-old woman singing karaoke (disorderly conduct offense) and later lunged at a 32-year-old man playing darts (harassment offense). The bar owner asked Miller to calm down several times to no avail.”

Miller, who came out as non-binary in 2018, paid the $500 bail posted to their name after being booked on both charges. No comment has yet been made on Miller’s part, and consequence on behalf of film executives is unlikely as The Flash wrapped filming last fall.

Starring Michael Keaton, Ben Affleck, and Kiersey Clemons alongside Miller – The Flash is scheduled to premiere on June 23, 2023.
