Disney’s latest animated movie Raya and the Last Dragon will be released soon on March 5, and with only less than two months left until the movie comes out the studio has released another trailer. This new footage reveals some details about the movie’s main characters and shows off a little more about the world of the film.
The trailer shows a brief scene of Raya in a village tangling with a gang of con artists that includes a con artist baby. Also a comedic scene in which Raya meets the last dragon Sisu is revealed, and another scene in which the dragon shape shifts. Throughout the trailer Raya narrates and tells the audience the backstory of the world of Kumandra. The people of Kumandra are constantly battling with one another, but the trailer shows a young Raya with her father who tells her about how he hopes that one day unity can be restored to the land.
Raya and the Last Dragon stars Kelly Marie Tran as Raya, Awkwafina as the dragon Sisu, Gemma Chan as Namaari the movie’s villain, Daniel Dae Kim as Raya’s dad, and Sandra Oh as Namaari’s mother. Other cast members include Benedict Wong, Izaac Wang, Thalia Tran, Alan Tudyk, Lucille Soong, Patti Harrison, and Ross Butler.
According to Movie Web this movie will be released simultaneously in theaters and directly to Disney+.
