Director David O. Russell Adds Taylor Swift to Cast of Upcoming Film

Taylor Swift has arrived and joins an A-list cast for a new movie with Oscar-winning director David O. Russell at New Regency, according to a new report from Showbiz411. Russell has directed movies like American Hustle, Joy, and Silver Linings Playbook. The untitled film will be his first major film since he directed 2015’s Joy.

Interesting side note, Jennifer Lawrence has starred in all three of those movies mentioned above.

The A-list cast to join includes Christian Bale, Margot Robbie, John David Washington, Rami Malek, Zoe Saldana, Robert De Niro, Michael Shannon, Anya Taylor-Joy, Chris Rock, and Mike Myers

The title and story plot has been shrouded in secrecy, but it has already finished production with Disney’s 20th Century Studios. The release date for the untitled film is also undetermined.

Swift made her debut in film with the 2010 romantic comedy Valentine’s Day that starred Jessica Alba, Jessica Biel, Bradley Cooper, Taylor Lautner, and many more stars. Swift also starred in The Giver and lent her voice to the animated Dr. Seuss adaptation The Lorax. This new role for Swift will be her first big project since the box office disaster that was the musical adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Cats. She was also the subject of the documentary Miss Americana which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2020 and on Netflix.
