Robbie Amell and Stephen Amell Are Set to Return in ‘Code 8’ Sequel

Deadline has learned exclusively that Robbie Amell (Upload) and Stephen Amell (Arrow) are coming back to the world of Code 8 for its sequel to reprise their roles in the sci-fi film.

The director of Code 8, Jeff Chan, is also set to return to direct the sequel. Chan also co-wrote the script alongside Chris Paré, Sherren Lee, and Jesse LaVercombe.

Code 8 revolves around the 4% of individuals in fictitious Lincoln City who have exceptional powers and are frequently faced by sophisticated, militarized police technology.

The upcoming sequel follows the journey of a teenage girl fighting to get justice for her murdered brother by corrupt police officers. She becomes a target after witnessing the cover-up and enlists the services of an ex-con (Robbie Amell) and his old partner-in-crime (Stephen Amell). They are up against a highly respected and well-protected police sergeant who will use whatever means possible to keep himself hidden.

Robbie Amell said in a statement, “There’s nothing better than working with family and friends. Code 8 was the embodiment of that. I can’t wait to get back to work on the sequel.”

Stephen Amell added: “Code 8 is an incredibly personal and special project for all of us. We built the world in the first one, and now we’re ready to blow it out!”

The release date for the sequel is undetermined.
