Full Trailer Released for M.Night Shyamalan’s Next Thriller ‘Old’

This past week, Universal Pictures released the official trailer for M. Night Shyamalan’s supernatural thriller Old. Just from the preview, it’s anticipated to be a gripping tale filled with unexpected twists and turns.

More of the narrative is shown to reveal a deeper story than just a family trip gone wrong. The trailer shows a group of travelers finding the body of a dead woman on a beach. From there, they realize that a strange atmosphere shrouds their peaceful vacation spot as all the characters begin to age rapidly and attempt to escape the island’s curse.

The film is an adaptation of Sandcastle, a 2010 graphic novel written by Pierre Oscar Lévy and illustrated by Frederik Peeters. Old marks Shyamalan’s return to the big screen after 2019’s Glass, and he has also directed titles such as The Sixth Sense, The Last Airbender, and Split.

In October 2019, Shyamalan signed a two-picture deal with Universal Studios. Old is most likely the first project, though the second film has not been officially announced yet and is due to release on February 17, 2023.

Old stars Gael Garcia Bernal, Eliza Scanlen, Thomasin McKenzie, Aaron Pierre, Alex Wolff, Vicky Krieps, Abbey Lee, Nikki Amuka-Bird, Ken Leung, Rufus Sewell, Embeth Davidtz, and Emun Elliott.
