‘Cobra Kai’ Star Tanner Buchanan Joins Addison Rae in Remake ‘He’s All That’

Addison Rae has a new cast member joining her in Miramax’s gender-flipping She’s All That. Tanner Buchanan has been cast opposite of Rae in the remake of He’s All That, directed by Mark Waters.

Buchanan is currently starring in the Netflix series Cobra Kai. He will play the role that Rachael Leigh Cook originated, and Rae will be taking on a part that was played originally by Freddie Prinze Jr. in the 1999 teen comedy classic.

The screenwriter behind the original film R. Lee Fleming is scripting the remake to reimagine the original plot. It is a fresh take from the original with a teenage girl’s point of view.

The remake follows an influencer (Rae) who decides to avenge herself by accepting a challenge to turn the school’s biggest loser (Buchanan) into prom king after her boyfriend turns her into a laughing stock.

On the Netflix show Cobra Kai, Buchanan plays Robby Keene, the estranged son of Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka), who Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) decides to mentor. The show was originally on YouTube but recently was moved to Netflix, where the viewership increased. The show’s third season will return in 2021.

Buchanan previously worked on shows of ABC’s Designated Survivor, Nickelodeon’s Game Shakers, and Freeform’s The Fosters
