CEO OF Disney Predicts Success For ‘Avengers: Doomsday’

CEO of Disney, Josh D’Amaro, believes the success of Spider-Man:Brand New Day is a good sign for Avengers: Doomsday. According to The Hollywood Reporter, D’Amaro spoke about the success of Spider-Man during a call about quarterly earnings, “I’d be remiss not to acknowledge and congratulate everyone on this past weekend’s record-breaking opening for Spider-Man.” He continued with,”Congratulations to Sony, Kevin Feige, and the Marvel Studios team. It’s an unbelievable result, and it’s one more example that audiences will turn out in force for great theatrical experiences.” This was before he said,”And it goes without saying that the success of Spider-Man bodes well for our upcoming and highly anticipated Avengers: Doomsday film, the appeal of our IP across multiple consumer touchpoints is central to our strategy, and Disney Plus is the digital centerpiece for that.”

Avengers: Doomsday is set to release in December of this year, but due to early ticket sales, the movie has already grossed about 16.5 million dollars the first day, according to Variety. The tickets don’t include IMAX sales which the movie won’t be featured on due to Dune: Part Three taking the format for it’s release. Disney is showing the movie through “Infinity Vision” which guarantees Avengers: Doomsday to be shown at premium quality.
