Paramount+ is continuing to grow with more and more movies getting developed on its streaming service. Emmy and Golden Globe winner Bryan Cranston (The One and Only Ivan) and Annette Bening (Captain Marvel) have been cast in Paramount+’s latest comedy film, Jerry and Marge Go Large, inspired by a real couple and events.
David Frankel (The Devil Wears Prada) is also set to direct the comedy with production in Georgia starting this July.
Emmy nominee Brad Copeland (Arrested Development) wrote the script based on an original story written by Jason Fgone for The Huffington Post about the real-life lotto-scamming couple.
Jerry and Marge Go Large follows Jerry Selbee (Cranston), a retiree who discovers a mathematical flaw in the Massachusetts lottery and wins $27 million with the aid of his wife, Marge (Bening), and uses the money to revitalize their little Michigan town.
Cranston recently starred in Showtime’s limited series Your Honor as Michael Desiato and Disney’s The One and Only Ivan as Mack.
Bening recently starred in William Nicholson’s Hope Gap as Grace that also starred Bill Nighy and Josh O’Connor. Her upcoming films include the drama/mystery Death on the Nile, the drama Other Plans, and the drama Nyad which will be directed by Jimmy Chin and Elizabeth Chai Vasarchelyi
