Walking Dead Creator to Possibly Helm ‘American Werewolf in London’ Reboot

Studios have been talking about rebooting the classic horror comedy An American Werewolf in London for awhile now, but nothing official has come about. At one point, Movie Web reported that Max Landis, the son of original movie director John Landis, would be writing the reboot’s script. However after several allegations of sexual harassment came out about Landis, the film and many other of projects Landis was involved with fell apart.

Now it has just been reported that possible American Werewolf reboot might be happening after all without Landis’ involvement. Instead, Robert Kirkman is now attached to the project. Kirkman is best known for creating the hit comic book series The Walking Dead, which was adapted into a successful AMC TV series and number of video games. Kirkman is currently serving as a producer on the upcoming Dracula movie, and it can be assumed that he will be producing this movie as well.

As mentioned earlier, the original An American Werewolf in London was directed by John Landis and followed the story of two American students who get attacked by a werewolf during their vacation in England. The movie is famous for its stellar practical special and makeup effects, with the movie even earning an Oscar for Best Makeup.

If a remake of An American Werewolf in London does get made, it better do that famous transformation scene justice!
