Trailer Released For ‘My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3’

Since 2002, the concept of a Greek wedding has been popular on the film scene, thanks to director Joel Zwick’s My Big Fat Greek Wedding. It became massively profitable, earning two sequels; one in 2016 and another coming out later this year, with trailer just released.

Following the death of the head of the family, the rest of the Portokalos clan embark on a trip to Greece to coincide with his final wishes. Once there, they seemingly do what he intended: connect with their roots, but he would be more than pleased with them. The trailer was packed with a lot of why people liked the first film, to begin with, that being a healthy dosage of easily accessible comedy while also juggling real familial troubles that some could face with these situations.

This newest installment seems to promise more of family reunion, with hints of a wedding still in the air. Star Nia Vardalos steps into the director’s chair for the first time since 2009’s I Hate Valentines Day. Also returning to the cast are John Corbett and Lainie Kazan, among others.

My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 hits theaters on September 8th. Check out the trailer below:
