Netflix Unveils Trailer For ‘Run Rabbit Run’

Streaming service Netflix has unveiled the first trailer for upcoming thriller from director Daina Reid, titled Run Rabbit Run. Known mostly for her television direction credits, Reid’s newest motion picture excursion follows the premise of a mother mourning the anniversary of her sister’s disappearance when her daughter begins to act strange, seemingly resembling the sister she had lost so many years ago.

Starring in the film is Sarah Snook, Greta Scacchi, and Damon Herriman. Snook has starred in multitude of projects, from Black Mirror to Robot Chicken. Netflix scooped up the distribution rights after the films debut at the Sundance film festival, and has it ready to release onto it’s services later this year.

From the nearly 90 second trailer, the promises of the titular animal seem to be a strong one, evoking many images of rabbits themselves, which no doubt will lead to a form of underlying symbolism in the film. The Hollywood Reporter uses the terms “moody and atmospheric” in its own review, delivering on the thriller genre look that the trailer had going for it, on top of promises of tackling and healing from past trauma.

Early reviews for the film have it at a 6.0 on IMDb, and 38% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes. Moviegoers will be able to make their own opinion soon, with Run Rabbit Run set to release of June 28th.
