Tom Cruise is expected to return to the filming of Mission: Impossible 7, but this time the production will be in the U.K. at Longcross Film Studios. Variety has confirmed that Cruise is back to work in the U.K. after a Christmas break in the States. Production moved from Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden to Longcross. Longcross is in Surrey, which falls within Tier 4, the highest level of restrictions, but films are allowed to shoot under strict COVID-19 protocols.
Fun fact: Longcross was once a U.K Ministry of Defence site that used to test army tanks but has been renovated as studios that have helped produce blockbuster movies like Skyfall, Thor: The Dark World, and Guardians of the Galaxy.
Recent productions from Longcross include The King’s Man, Artemis Fowl, The Gentlemen, and Death on the Nile. A few weeks ago, Cruise went off on crew members for breaking social distance protocols. “I’m on the phone with every f—ing studio at night, insurance companies, producers, and they’re looking at us and using us to make their movies. We are creating thousands of jobs, you motherf—ers,” Cruise roared to crew members who failed to social distance. “I don’t ever want to see it again. Ever!”
Mission: Impossible 7 is still scheduled for Nov.19, 2021 release date.
