‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’ Actor Joel Johnstone Joins Nicole Gomez Fisher’s ‘Good Egg’

Deadline has learned that Good Egg, written and to be directed by Nicole Gomez Fisher, has added The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel actor Joel Johnstone to join Yara Martinez (Bull) in the film.

Fisher is best known for directing, writing, and producing Sleeping with the Fishes that starred Golden Globe winner Gina Rodriguez (Jane the Virgin).

Good Egg follows Jessica Nieves-Sanders (Martinez), who is a high school drama teacher in Queens and very much so desires to be a mother before she is 40 and is forced to look toward alternate ways of becoming a mother, after many failed IVF efforts. Just as Jessica is ready to give up, she meets Bridget, a young con-artist whom she feels would be able to help give her what she needs most. However, she becomes entangled in a criminal underground and is compelled to ponder how she ended up in such a bad situation.

Gordon, Jessica’s high school sweetheart and husband, will be played by Johnstone. Gordon is a meager desktop analyst with a heart of gold with dreams of having a huge family. He is also caught up in Bridget’s scheme.

Johnstone is currently filming the fourth season of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel as Archie Clearly.

I did attend Long Beach City College for a couple of years, I then transferred to CSULB in 2019. I want to write something outside the normal, something no one would think to write about in a unique way. It also shows how far I am willing to go to produce something amazing that will get more readers interested in the world of Journalism. I am on my way to making a professional life for myself.
