What could be more Super Bowl appropriate than football players and musical performances? The new television spot for Universal’s Pitch Perfect 2 covered these bases thoroughly when it was aired during the game yesterday. The teaser features Anna Kendrick (Into the Woods) and the rest of her Bellas looking a lot more polished since the first film, yet accompanied by the same amount of clever quips from actress Rumor Wilson (Bachelorette). Aside from the Treblemakers, the spot revealed their new and aca-surprising competitors, the Green Bay Packers football team. This is just a tease into the high level of American opposition the Bellas will have to face before they can go up against the international competition that is to be the main stage of the film. Also featuring performances from Brittany Snow (Hairspray), Anna Camp (TV’s True Blood), Skylar Astin (21 & Over), Hailee Steinfeld (Begin Again), and director Elizabeth Banks (The Hunger Games), the film will be released worldwide on May 15.
