Robert Pattinson has been cleared to officially go back to work as The Batman two weeks after Pattinson got a positive COVID-19 test result. The Batman was shut down on Sept. 3 when the COVID-19 test for members of the crew, including Pattinson that came back positive.
The Batman had only just begun production on Sept. 1 when everything was halted again. The delay of the film forced Warner Bros’ to move the release date from June 2021 to Oct 2021
It was reported that the director Matt Reeves would continue on filming without Pattinson, but the whole cast and crew had to be quarantined. Everything seems to be in the clear, and now everyone is going back to work.
Warner Bros. has made an official announcement about the status of production for The Batman: “Following a hiatus for COVID-19 quarantine precautions, filming has now resumed on The Batman in the U.K.,” the studio told Variety. The studio has never revealed who contracted the virus aside from Pattinson, and even he hasn’t gone public with his test results.
Matt Reeves told Deadline that he had a quarter of the movie in the can and reportedly has another three months to shoot. There is no word yet if Pattinson is back to filming at Leavesden Studios. The film is scheduled to be released on Oct. 1, 2021
