The entertainment industry is currently in the middle of award season, and while most award shows celebrate the very best the film industry has to offer, there is one rather unique award show that exists to “honor” the worst of cinema. This show is the Golden Raspberry Awards, but it is more colloquially referred to as the Razzies.
Earlier this week the nominations for the 41st Golden Raspberry Awards were announced. It seems that the year 2020 produced a cornucopia of terrible movies for the Razzies to choose from. This year’s nominees for Worst Picture are 365 Days, Absolute Proof, Dolittle, Fantasy Island, and Music, all of these movies are major turkeys so it hard to predict which of these horrible movies will take home the Razzie.
Dolittle and 365 Days are tied for the most nominations this year with six each. Adam Sandler, who is a veteran of the Razzies at this point, was nominated for his performance in Hubie Halloween. Sandler and “His Grating Simpleton Voice” were also nominated for Worst Screen Combo. Other notable nominees include Rudy Giuliani as himself form Borat, Subsequent Movie-Film for Worst Supporting Actor, and Mike Lindell (The My Pillow Guy) from Absolute Proof for Worst Actor.
