The official trailer for the biopic on the legendary rock legend, Elton John, has just been released and has everyone singing Rocketman. The film stars Kingsman actor Taron Egerton and will follow John’s life from his years as a prodigy at the Royal Academy of Music through is influential and enduring musical partnership with Bernie Hall. We hear Egerton belt the beginning of John’s “Benny and the Jets” before transitioning into the films eponymous song.
Based on the screenplay by Lee Hall, who also wrote last year’s Victoria and Abdul, the film Rocketman is directed by Kick Ass’s Dexter Fletcher and also stars Bryce Dallas Howard, Richard Madden and Jamie Bell.
Rocketman is set to come out in theaters May 17, 2019, but in the meantime, watch the official trailer below.
