SNL Stars Pete Davidson and Colin Jost Starring Together In ‘Worst Man’

Everyone loves to see Staten Island-born comedians Colin Jost and Pete Davidson play off of each other during Weekend Update on Saturday Night Live. But now the SNL stars are going head to head on the big screen in the romantic comedy Worst Man, which as the title implies, is a wedding comedy with plenty of family drama. The details of the plot haven’t been revealed yet, but if Jost and Davidson’s segments together on Weekend Update are any indication, it’s a good bet that Davidson’s chaotic persona will play off of Jost’s straight-man.

Jost pitched Worst Man to Universal along with Matthew Bass and Theodore Bressman. Universal was the company behind the recently released The King of Staten Island, starring Davidson, so his involvement in the project probably made the project an easy sell.

The production team is reportedly in search of a director. Judd Apatow, who recently directed Davidson in King of Staten Island, could be potential candidate, as could Paul Feig, director of the wildly successful Bridesmaids, who is clearly already familiar with the wedding comedy subgenre.

Ironically, both Jost and Davidson have their own experiences with weddings and engagements to build off of. Jost is currently engaged to Scarlett Johansson, and could be currently involved with wedding planning, which may have inspired the idea for the movie. And Davidson was famously engaged to singer Ariana Grande before they broke off their nuptials in October of 2018.
