Shamier Anderson Joins Cast of ‘John Wick: Chapter 4’

John Wick: Chapter 4 is getting closer and closer, and recently fans of the franchise have been getting hyped with the announcements that Donnie Yen and Rina Sawayama would be starring alongside Keanu Reeves. And now, it seems that Canadian actor Shamier Anderson is the latest to make the cut for the upcoming sequel.

Anderson is known mostly for his role in the 2016 Jessie Owens biopic, Race. The actor has also played minor roles in films like the 2018 crime-thriller Destroyer, which starred Nicole Kidman, as well as in another crime-thriller from that year, City of Lies, which starred Johnny Depp and Forest Whitaker. Anderson can also be seen in Billy Bob Thornton‘s Amazon Prime series, Goliath.

Plot details for Chapter 4 are being kept under wraps and it’s unclear who Anderson will be playing. Chad Stahelski is set to return as director with a script from Shay Hatten and Michael Finch. Production is set to begin later this summer on location in France, Germany and Japan.

Anderson recently teamed up with his brother and fellow actor, Stephan James, who also starred in Race, to co-found the Bay Mills Investment Group, Canada’s first Black-owned venture capital firm dedicated to BIPOC entrepreneurs. As of now, Anderson is the only one of the two who will appear in the next John Wick film, which is set to release May 27, 2022.
