Seth Meyers to Host the 75th Golden Globe Awards

The Hollywood Foreign Press has announced the host for their upcoming 2018 Golden Globes. The 75th annual broadcast of the famed film and television awards show will be MC’d by Late Night host Seth Meyers.

In recent years, the Golden Globes hosts have been dominated by Saturday Night Live alums, comedians, and late night hosts alike, with Meyers inheriting the mantle from Tina Fey & Amy Poehler, Ricky Gervais, and most recently Jimmy Fallon.

Being the Late Night go-to for political commentary in the past election and inaugural year of office for Donald Trump, Meyers has emerged in both the social and pop culture conscious as a leader in socially mobile comedy and hosting. It is likely that the Globes will experience a similarly topical discussion throughout the broadcast as Meyers is not known to beat around any bushes.

The 75thAnnual Golden Globe Awards will take place on Sunday, Jan. 7, 2018. The ceremony will air live on NBC  at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. Nominations will be announced Monday, Dec. 11.
