New ‘Wonderstruck’ Trailer Shows Us A Unique Taste Of Two Stories As One Narrative

Film festivals are always the best chance for a variety of different indie directors and actors to show their skills to the world in order to make it to the silver screen. It is also the perfect place for directors and writers to experiment with ideas and films that would not normally be considered for large film companies. Wonderstruck looks to be a beautiful film that will be distributed by Amazon, and a new trailer has officially been released:

Wonderstruck will follow the story of two young children named Ben and Rose. Ben is trying to discover his father’s whereabouts, while Rose, fifty years in the past, is searching for an actress that she has been following for years. After Ben finds a mysterious yet curious clue in his home and Rose finds an interesting newspaper clipping, they both begin their travels to solve their mysteries, which eventually run parallel with one another.

The cast is a mix of new, upcoming actors and classic, well known actresses including Oakes Fegley (Pete’s Dragon), Julianne Moore (The Big Lebowski), Michelle Williams (Shutter Island), and Millicent Simmonds. The film is being directed by Todd Haynes (Carol) and written by Brian Selznick, the writer of the book. The film has a current release date of October 20th.
