New Trailer for ‘Scoob’ Released Featuring More Classic Hanna Barbera Characters

In regards to high profile animation releases, many are curious about the CGI return of some meddling kids and their talking dog. Scoob! will be the next major release for Warner Bros Animation, serving as a reboot of the Scooby Doo franchise. The film’s newest and supposedly final trailer released online today, and this time we see more than just the origins of the mystery gang.

The trailer starts out with a moment from the last trailer, with Scooby and Shaggy getting on the space shuttle Falcon Fury, a vehicle from the cult favorite Hanna Barbara cartoon Dyno-Mutt. We then see Velma, Fred and Daphne trying to locate the whereabouts of Scooby and Shaggy, including investigating a couple of small robots that appear when the two were taken away. After a few scenes of the Mystery Gang as kids, we see Scooby and Shaggy finally meeting the famous Blue Falcon (voiced by Mark Wahlberg) and end up teaming up with him alongside other Hanna-Barbara characters like Dee Dee Sykes and Dyno-Mutt. Not only do we see those characters, but the main antagonist is revealed to be the iconic Dick Dastardly from Wacky Races, with the Mystery Gang set on stopping him from taking over the world.

Scoob! showcases a lot of charm and humor that’s to be expected from a Scooby Doo film, but further sets up the concept of a Hanna-Barbera Cinematic Universe. With more characters being rumored for the final film, fans can only hope to potentially see more of their favorite nostalgic cartoons teaming up with Scooby and the gang.

Scoob! is set for release May 14th 2020. Watch the full trailer below:

Ryan Pineda: When it comes to film, animation, video games and other mediums, I can discuss for hours about how much on why certain films and animated media made me the person I am today. I adore the artistic merit that comes from a lot of pop-culture media and will definitely love to have a conversation about favorite movies any day! I have graduated in 2017 with a BA in Film and Television at the University of Arizona. Been passionate about writing about films due to always having an interesting outlook on the medium. Will always see a film and will definitely be sure to recommend it to someone that I know for a fact would love that movie. Not only that but will also give reasons for why I think that film did or did not work as a movie, and the same can go for other pieces of media like television, video games and especially animated projects.
