New Shia LeBeouf Film ‘The Tax Collector’ Drops Trailer

The new crime thriller, The Tax Collector, starring Shia LaBeouf, just dropped its first trailer. The new thriller is scheduled to hit theaters on Aug. 7 of this year. Due to the coronavirus and social distancing, it is unknown if the recent spike will impact the film’s release date in cases across the country. In addition to its theatrical release on Aug. 7, the film will also be released on demand.

The Tax Collector comes from director David Ayer, who previously worked with LaBeouf on Fury, which was released in theaters back in 2014.

Along with LaBeouf, the film also stars Bobby Soto, Cinthya Carmona, and George Lopez

The film is being distributed by RLJE, who recently published a short description of the films that reads, “David (Soto) and Creeper (LaBeouf) are ‘tax collectors’ for the crime lord Wizard, collecting his cut from the profits of local gangs’ illicit dealings. But when Wizard’s old rival returns to Los Angeles from Mexico, the business is upended, and David finds himself desperate to protect what matters more to him than anything else: his family.”

The film remarks Ayer’s return to his roots, gritty crime thriller films, after working on more big-budget projects like Suicide Squad and Bright
