Michael Giacchino Reveals The Riddler Theme from ‘The Batman’

In anticipation of the release of The Batman, Collider reports that Michael Giacchino has released the theme he composed for The Riddler, the supposed main villain of the new film. Just a week ago, Giacchino released the theme for Batman himself, an intense, dark, and brooding anthem for the caped crusader. He has followed that up with an ominous and maniacal theme for the iconic Batman villain – complete with mysterious choral vocals which lead up to a climactic and epic finish. The Riddler is portrayed by Paul Dano, most known for his role in Prisoners, and is sure to bring a haunting take of the villain to the big screen.

Matt Reeves, known for his work on Cloverfield, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, and War for the Planet of the Apes, has directed the new Batman film with Michael Giacchino scoring. The newest addition to the Batman legacy has Robert Pattinson in the titular role. Zoe Kravitz is starring opposite Pattinson as Catwoman, another iconic Batman villain, although this film seems to be playing on the anti-heroic aspects of the character; a probable foil to Batman.

The cast also includes Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, Colin Farrell as Penguin/Oswald Cobblepot, and John Turturro as Carmine Falcone.

The Batman releases in theaters on March 4. Listen to the office Riddler track below.
