Siân Heder To Direct ‘Tomorrow, And Tomorrow, And Tomorrow’ Film Adaptation

Paramount Pictures has decided to go with Oscar Award-winning director Siân Heder to direct the film adaptation of the book Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow by Gabrielle ZevinAccording to Deadline, the story focuses on two childhood friends who reunite later in life in the video game industry throughout the 1990’s – 2000’s, during which the industry was going through a boom. The story explores the intimacy, passion, and heartbreak of people working together in the creative industry.

Paramount first got the rights to the book back in 2021 before the book was released to the public in 2022. Since then, the studio has been working on the story, with the first draft written by Zevin herself before being written by Mark Bomback. The studio had met with numerous directors to decide who would be directing the piece. After meeting with Heder, Paramount didn’t want to lose the chance to work with her and eventually decided to give her the job.

This desire came from Heder’s most recent success writing and directing the film CODA, which focuses on the life of a CODA child (child of deaf adults) who has to choose between her family and her passion for music when her family’s fishing business is threatened.

Heder would go on to win an Academy Award for the film for Best Adapted Screenplay and would also win two more Academy Awards for Best Motion Picture of the Year and Best Supporting Actor for Troy Kotsur. Before her Oscar wins, she was a writer for shows such as Netflix’s Orange is the New Black and also wrote and directed for the original Netflix film Tallulah

As for Zevin, she had seen much success with her novel, which became a New York Times Best Seller and even the #1 Book of The Year for Amazon.com, according to her official website. She was also allowed to go on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to talk about her writing history and book, which became the first book ever to join the Fallon Book Club. This wasn’t the first time a book of hers has seen this much success, as her other novel, The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry also made it to the New York Times Best Sellers list.

Tomorrow, And Tomorrow, And Tomorrow doesn’t have a release date or production window.
