An all-star cast is on the horizon as Melissa Leo, Michael K. Williams, Alice Englert and Jack Kilmer were tabbed for John Swab’s pending crime thriller entitled Body Brokers according to Deadline.
Body Brokers will be written and directed by Swab and centers around the factual accounts of a multi-billion dollar drug and alcohol treatment scam where former addicts and dealers transition into millionaires as eponymous “body brokers.” These so-called body brokers recruit other addicts to seek treatment and sell patients off to facilities which bid the highest.
The film will be produced by Jeremy M. Rosen of Dog Eat Dog and Charlie Says fame, Robert Ogden Barnum who previously worked on Margin Call and All Is Lost and Swab for Roxwell Films.
Swab’s filmography includes Let Me Make You a Martyr starring Marilyn Manson which was distributed by FilmRise in 2017. Swab’s most recent film, Run With the Hunted starring Ron Perlman, Michael Pitt and Dree Hemingway is slated for a fall release via several film festivals with funding by CAA Media Finance.
Body Brokers is slated to begin principal photography this August. The location of the film’s photography is currently unknown. The film does not have a release date yet.
