‘Mascots’ Trailer; Christopher Guest Explores The World of Mascots

In the vein of Best In Show, the trailer Christopher Guest’s latest mockumentary, Mascots, has been released. The topic of Mascots is simply a behind the scenes look into the world of competitive mascots and the tight competition they go through in order to be the best. Co-written with Jim Piddock, Guest returns to the director’s chair to once again remind us how well he can put together a fictional documentary.

Over the years Guest has created a mockumentary cult following with popular titles such as Best In Show, A Mighty Wind, and Waiting For Guffman. Guest is best known for recasting actors from his previous films. This time around Mascots will feature the return of Jane Lynch, Parker Posey, Jennifer Coolidge, Fred Willard, John Michael Higgins, Bob Balaban, and Ed Begley Jr. In addition to the usual crew, Zach Woods (Silicon Valley & The Office) will appear in his first Guest film. His awkward style of comedy fits perfectly with the already hilarious ensemble.

Mascots is scheduled to premier this weekend at the Toronto International Film Festival and will be available to stream on Netflix October 13th. Take a look and enjoy the trailer below.
