Channing Tatum is taking his clothes off once again, and before the cameras can even start rolling, screams of excitement can already be heard. Magic Mike’s Last Dance, the third installment in the Warner Bros male stripper saga, will reunite Channing Tatum and director of the first film Steven Soderbergh, making women, men, and people alike go crazy.
In 2012 Magic Mike became quite the sensation earning $167 million at the box office, adding the sequel film, and together earning nearly $300 million worldwide.
Reid Carolin, who wrote the previous two films, returns to write the third film’s script. Though the specifics of the third film’s plot have yet to be revealed, it is believed to conclude the trilogy of the franchise.
The director behind the sequel Magic Mike XXL, Gregory Jacobs, is co-producing Magic Mike’s Last Dance with Carolin, Nick Wechsler, and Peter Kiernan.
‘There are no words for how excited I am to blow the doors off of the world of Magic Mike with Steven, Greg, Reid, and the amazing people at HBO Max,” said Tatum on his Twitter account. “The stripperverse will never be the same.”
“As soon as I saw what Channing, Reid, and the Magic Mike choreographic team did with the live show, I said, ‘We have to make another movie.’ Mike Lane’s dream of connecting people through dance must be realized,” said Soderbergh.
However, some fans will be a little disappointed as to where they can see Magic Mike 3 as it will not be playing in theaters but will premiere on HBO Max exclusively.
