Log back In! ‘The Matrix’ Returns to Theaters for Limited Run!

“What is the Matrix?” The year was 1999 and Y2K was fast approaching, but one film introduced a unique idea and changed filmmaking forever. The Matrix was released on March 31, 1999 and became very popular with audiences and critics alike. Spawning a franchise, comics, video games and merchandise alike, The Matrix quickly became a pop culture icon. With a killer soundtrack, clothing straight out of a Marilyn Manson music video and a sense of style that has been copied in countless other films, it’s one of the most influential movies of the past two decades.

To honor the film’s legendary status at twenty years old, The Matrix is returning to the big screen. While it may be late in showing the film, it’s certainly a nice accompaniment for Keanu Reeves, who’s sure been getting a lot of attention lately. With his “breathtaking” appearance at E3 and return to top box office star with John Wick 3, Reeves is back in the spotlight at the action we remember him in twenty years ago. And he looks like he hasn’t aged a day.

The Matrix will be in theaters starting August 30 and play until September 5! Tickets are on sale now so don’t miss your chance. Whether you’ve seen this film before or are new to the party, watching The Matrix on the big screen will be a whole new experience that surprised moviegoers twenty years ago.

The Matrix has you so oblige and hack in once again so that you can free your mind.

Rick Rice: A kid at heart who has loved watching movies from a very young age. Credit must be given to Siskel and Ebert whose film reviews educated me on the world of film inspired me to become a writer myself. I love to read books that range from various topics, copious amounts of research is something that excites me and of course sitting in a movie theater is a highlight of my life. When I'm not watching movies or reading I enjoy listening to foreign music and working hard on finishing my short stories. Currently working on my degree in English with a plan to enroll into Film School with the dream of becoming a screenwriter and director.
