Like a Streak of Light, New ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ Trailer Arrives Just in Time

Along with a third teaser poster, Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures have released the second trailer for their upcoming web-slinging adventure, Spider-Man: Homecoming.

After his monumental debut in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War, the Queens-bred vigilante returns for his own solo film. Per Spider-Man tradition, the film will show Peter Parker as he struggles to juggle the great responsibilities (school, family, saving the city) that come with his great power. Under the tutelage of the invincible Iron Man, played by Robert Downey Jr., Peter must learn to prove and better himself before he can take on the world, or in this case, Michael Keaton‘s the Vulture.

Following Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, Tom Holland’s first solo film marks the third live-action incarnation of the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man to come out within the last ten years. By the looks of this new film, Holland’s take on the hero is sure to be one of the best.

Directed by Jon Watts (Cop Car), Spider-Man: Homecoming will also feature the return of Jon Faverau’s Happy Hogan, along with newcomers Zendaya (Disney Channel’s Shake It Up), Tyne Daly (Hello, My Name is Doris), Donald Glover (The Martian). The film is set to swing into theaters on July 7th.

Austin Allison: Born and raised in Tucson, AZ, I have been obsessed with cartoons, animation, and film in general for as long as I've known how to talk and draw. From Disney animation to indie movies, filmmaking was always the purest form of art to me. I majored in Film and Television Studies and minored in Studio Art at the University of Arizona. The greatest aspect of studying film was developing a creative and critical eye for a medium that I had loved for so long, but couldn't explain why I loved it until now.
