John Goodman Joins The Cast Of New Thriller ‘Skeletons’

John Goodman (The Big Lebowski) is joining the cast of new thriller Skeletons, directed by JT Mollner (The Long Walk). Starring in the movie along Goodman is Brie Larson (Captain Marvel), Kyle Gallner (Dinner in America) and Willa Fitzgerald (Strange Darling), who, except for Larson, have worked with Mollner in other projects before. The movie is also being produced by J.J. Abrams (Star Trek) who has worked with Goodman in before in 10 Cloverfield Lane, another thriller but with a sci-fi twist. It is not confirmed who will be playing in the movie as of now.

The film Skeletons is an adaptation of Philip Fracassi’s, who is also working on the film, short story Fail-Safe. The plot follows a boy who must restrain his mom late at night for she experiences transformations. Fracassi shared on his blog, “The one thing about “Fail Safe”, the story, that I think might be of interest to writers out there, is that nobody wanted to buy this story. Meaning, I submitted it to dozens of magazines and websites and got turned down by every… single… one.”

The story was originally published in 2017 in Fracassi’s book Behold The Void. It was later republished in the May 2019 issue of Nightmare Magazine. Francassi in his blog continued with , “The point, of course, is to believe in your work, even if it seems that no one else does. Don’t chase trends even if it’s what publishers are asking for. Be true to yourself and your voice, work hard, and good things will happen.”
