Jack Black in Talks to Join Ice Cube in Kitao Sakurai’s Comedy ‘Oh Hell No’

It’s time for Jack Black to come out of the video game jungle and into the real world again for role in the Kitao Sakurai comedy Oh Hell No with Ice Cube at Sony Pictures. This will be the first time the comedy actors will be appearing alongside each other.

Sakurai, best known in the comedy side of film for directing and executive producing Adult Swim’s The Eric Andre Show and the most recent comedy that he directed and co-wrote was for Netflix’s No. 1 comedy film Bad Trip, which stars Eric Andre, Lil Rel Howery, and Tiffany Haddish.

Written by Scot Armstrong, Jessica Gai, Tracy Oliver, and Rodney Rothman. The plot of Oh Hell No revolves around Sherman (Black), who falls in love with Will’s (Cube) mom, and there is just one thing Will has to say about that, “Oh hell no.”

Cube is currently filming the sci-fi film War of the Worlds (no plot yet) that stars Eva Longoria. He is set to star in the drama Flint Strong with Judy Greer (Ant-Man), Olunike Adeliyi (She Never Died), and Ryan Destiny (Star) and the comedy Accidentes. Ice Cube is still one of the busiest actors in the industry.

Black is currently filming Borderlands as Claptrap in the upcoming video game adaptation.

The film is set to be released on July 1, 2022, which also happens to coincide with Minions: The Rise of Gru, the second prequel to the growing Despicable Me franchise.
