First Official Trailer for Christopher Nolan’s ‘Tenet’ Released Online

Whenever a Christopher Nolan movie is announced, it often tends to be on so many film buff radars as one of their most anticipated film for the next year. This is still the case with Nolan’s upcoming 2020 science-fiction film Tenet, a film so surrounded in mystery, its original teaser didn’t even get an official online release, but was instead shown in the trailers of of Hobbs and Shaw, It Chapter 2 and Joker. Fortunately, Warner Bros released an official trailer for the  film online for everyone to witness, and it still offers a ton of mystery.

The trailer starts out by introducing John David Washington’s character as he climbs up a building for what looks like a heist. We later see him waking up in a hospital bed where a mysterious man explains that he passed the first test. He’s then tasked with his mission: preventing World War 3, which he assumed means preventing nuclear holocaust but apparently is much worse than that. Throughout the trailer we see him and other characters go through many crazy obstacles, including a car crash happening in reverse and a reference to the title”Tenet,” which will presumably help Washington’s character later on. The trailer ends with him and Robert Pattinson looking at some bullet holes to which Washington exclaims, “It hasn’t happen yet.”

Like most Nolan film trailers, it’s very vague as to what’s actually happening plot-wise. Many are assuming the film deals with time travel due to Washington seemingly viewing events like the car crash from different chronological periods. Regardless, this should make audience even more intrigued to learn what the film is actually about. Considering this is Christopher Nolan, he’ll surely provide one of the most talked about and fascinating films of next year, especially given how it’ll be set for 70MM, 35MM and IMAX releases.

Tenet is set for release July 17th 2020. Watch the full trailer below:

Ryan Pineda: When it comes to film, animation, video games and other mediums, I can discuss for hours about how much on why certain films and animated media made me the person I am today. I adore the artistic merit that comes from a lot of pop-culture media and will definitely love to have a conversation about favorite movies any day! I have graduated in 2017 with a BA in Film and Television at the University of Arizona. Been passionate about writing about films due to always having an interesting outlook on the medium. Will always see a film and will definitely be sure to recommend it to someone that I know for a fact would love that movie. Not only that but will also give reasons for why I think that film did or did not work as a movie, and the same can go for other pieces of media like television, video games and especially animated projects.
