Drake Doremus’ ‘Zoe’ Casts Charlie Hunnam & Lea Seydoux

Like Crazy and Equals director Drake Doremus has secured another project.

Doremus will be teaming up with the recently cast Charlie Hunnam (Pacific Rim, Sons of Anarchy) and Lea Seydoux (Spectre, The Grand Budapest Hotel) in Zoe, a story about two researchers at a revolutionary research lab tasked with designing technology that could improve and perfect romantic relationships. As their research continues, their discoveries become more profound. Zoe is written by Richard Greenberg.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, IM Global is fully financing the project. Zoe will be produced by Scott Free’s Michael Pruss along with Doremus and Robert George. Ridley Scott is listed as an executive producer along with IM Global’s Stuart Ford, Shapiro and Kate Buckley.

When asked about Drake, Ford said:

Greg and I are both longtime admirers of Drake’s talent – With Zoe we feel as if he is come up with a potentially commercial and critical success, and he has already attached an outstandingly talented cast in Charlie and Lea. We’re genuinely excited about the film’s global box-office potential.

Scott added:

We are delighted to be working with Drake again after what was a very satisfying experience making Equals together. He has assembled a fascinating cast for this next project and we are very much looking to continuing what has been a very successful collaboration.
