Biopic About John McCain Confirmed

McCain, John-012309-18421- 0004

A biopic about the life of the late Senator John McCain has just been announced. McCain of course passed away about 2 years ago at the age of 81. At the time of his death McCain was serving as a Senator for the state of Arizona. McCain was the subject of the 2018 documentary John McCain: For Whom the Bell Tolls.

According to Movie Web this upcoming biopic movie will be specifically based on the biography The Luckiest Man: Life With John McCain which was written by author Mark Salter. The movie rights of the biography have been optioned by Stampede Ventures, and McCain’s widow Cindy McCain will be serving as an executive producer for the movie. Craig Turk and Greg Silverman will be producing the movie. Turk also co-wrote the biopic’s script with Salter. Apparently Turk was close with McCain as he used to be his chief legal counsel during McCain’s campaign back in 2000.

A biopic about McCain could be very interesting. The late senator lived a rather eventful life. He served in Vietnam as a naval aviator and was captured and held as prisoner of war. He is probably most well known for running for President against and losing to Barrack Obama in 2008.
