Cuban actress Ana de Armas could soon be joining Jonah Hill (21 Jump Street) and Miles Teller (Whiplash) in the dark comedy, Arms and The Dudes. Soon too be directed by The Hangover creator Todd Phillips and co-produced by Bradley Cooper (Silver Linings Playbook), the film will be based off the true life story, and Rolling Stone article, about two men contracted by the Pentagon to arm U.S. allies in Afghanistan. Armas will reportedly be taking the role of Teller’s girlfriend in the movie – part for which Phillips wanted to cast a relatively unknown actress. Besides a flourishing Spanish-language filmography, Armas is just breaking into Hollywood. This year she has starred opposite Keanu Reeves (The Matrix) in Eli Roth’s (Hostel) Sundance horror, Knock Knock, and will soon reunite with Reeves for Daughter of God. Armas will also appear alongside Robert De Niro (American Hustle) in the Roberto Duran biopic, Hands of Stone.
